Causes of Hair Loss
The most common cause of hair loss is a hereditary condition call male or female-pattern baldness. This type of hair loss occurs gradually over time as the patient ages. Hereditary hair loss causes a receding hairline and bald patches in men, while for women it causes a thinning all over the scalp. Other health factors that can lead to permanent hair loss include hormonal changes, medical conditions, and extreme stress. These can cause patchiness, bald spots, and overall thinning.
